Power to Educate  |  Inesting in our future

Investing in our future

We’re helping to shape the next generation of America’s workforce.

Partnering with colleges and universities

We’re working with leading colleges and universities to help shape the next generation of America's workforce, conduct cutting-edge research, help advance renewable energy in Florida and make our energy grid even smarter. With the power to innovate, we’re preparing the next generation of engineers, scientists and even our future employees.

“FPL is powering strong communities by supporting partners like Florida Atlantic University and helping students pursue their educational goals and build successful careers.”

-- Juliet Roulhac, FPL director of external affairs, Broward and Southwest regions, and director of corporate philanthropy, NextEra Energy, Inc.

“This exciting partnership is a giant step forward to address the current and future needs of the energy industry, as we work together to initiate new ideas and insights that will benefit our communities.”

-- Florida Atlantic University President Stacy Volnick

Featured event:

Florida Atlantic University and FPL unveiled the newly established “FPL Center for Intelligent Energy Technologies” (InETech) at the university’s Boca Raton campus. The InETech Center, a first-of-its-kind artificial intelligence-enabled center, is designed to mimic FPL’s control center for smart grid – a complex power generation, transmission and distribution network – that uses leading-edge technology to predict and prevent future outages.
