Senior hurricane preparedness

Ensuring vulnerable populations have essential supplies for hurricane season.

Hurricane Meal Kits

Since 2016, we have demonstrated our Power to Care by working with local nonprofits to help vulnerable seniors prepare for storm season by delivering thousands of hurricane kits, which include a preparedness guide and three days of shelf-stable food, water and snacks.

“We see this as a way to help some of our most vulnerable customers with a vital need so that they can better prepare for hurricane season.”

-- Katia Saint-Preux, Community Relations Lead at FPL

“Together, we worked to collaborate and to get the food to them and to create events where we could also educate seniors about how to get ready for hurricane season.”

-- Blanca Ceballos, United HomeCare Community Relations Manager
