As part of our commitment to support innovation and technology in schools, the NextEra Energy Foundation will award classroom makeover grants for $50,000 each up to five schools in Florida.
This grant program is intended to provide transformational learning for economically disadvantaged students in K-12 Title 1 public, charter or private schools or for schools serving a minimum of 40% economically disadvantaged students. Funds are available to address technology or resources that will advance STEM curricula, exposure, and careers to diverse students in a classroom setting.
Grants are also available to schools in areas served by our sister company, NextEra Energy Resources. As with all foundation grants, no customer dollars are involved.
The 2024-2025 FPL STEM Classroom Makeover Grant applications are now open! Apply here by Dec. 13, 2024.

We are partnering with the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations to bring the EmPOWERing STEM Educators Program to school districts throughout the state. This program allows local education foundations to apply for funding to bring teachers together for peer-to-peer learning of leading practices in STEM instruction in their district each school year.
Since 2010, the Consortium has administered hands-on, workplace-based STEM classroom learning experiences to increase student awareness and interest in STEM careers.
