A Participating Independent Contractor (PIC) is a qualified independent business that follows our program standards and you can hire to install your new HVAC. Find a PIC.

Depending on the size and efficiency of your current HVAC, a new system could save you money on your energy bill. If you upgrade an older three-ton HVAC with a new, higher-efficiency model, you could save around $470 annually.1

A straight cool HVAC is one that includes a cooling cycle only. A gas, oil or electric strip heater may be included, but it does not have a separate heating cycle. This is a less expensive system compared to others that have a heating cycle, and it’s perfect for mild winters.

A heat pump HVAC provides a cooling cycle during the summer and a heating cycle during the winter. And may cost slightly more than a straight cool system to purchase.

1Costs are estimates based on South Florida area average of 2,800 annual HVAC cooling operating hours and current rate of 10 cents per kWh.

The list of Participating Independent Contractors (PICs) is a compilation of businesses that have agreed to comply with FPL's program standards and is not a recommendation by FPL of a particular independent contractor.
