Frequently Asked Questions

What information will I need to update my mailing address?

  • Location (country/region) of your mailing address
  • Start date for your new mailing address
  • Your new mailing address

When should I update my mailing address?

You should update your mailing address with FPL when you want to change where we send your bill and other correspondence.

How long will it take to process my mailing address update?

If you update your mailing address online, it will be processed immediately.

How do I change the start date of the updated mailing address if my plans change?

If you need to change the date when we start using your new mailing address, please submit a new mailing address update online and provide us with the revised date.

Can I schedule a mailing address update for a date in the future?

Yes. The start date for your updated mailing address can be any date in the future. You can also provide an end date for the mailing address, if applicable.

Will changing my mailing address also change my service address?

No. Updating your mailing address will only change where we send your bills and other correspondence associated with your account. If you would like to change your service address, complete a transfer service request.

I am a seasonal resident. Should I stop my service when I leave Florida?

If you are leaving temporarily and still need service at your residence, you should continue your FPL service. Simply update your mailing address and include both the start and end dates.

I am moving and want to transfer my electric service, what should I do?

Updating your mailing address will not transfer your service.  If you are moving and need to change your service address, please complete a transfer service request.

I am moving to a different part of Florida, can I transfer my service?

Yes. The first step is to find out who your new electric provider will be. It could be FPL or another company. Enter your new mailing address to see if it’s within FPL's service area. If you are moving out-of-state, or to an area in Florida where FPL is not the electric service provider, you will need to schedule your FPL service stopped and schedule service to be started with your new provider.
