On Call brings mutual benefits for your business and us. Here’s why it’s a win-win:
Cost savings
By enrolling in On Call, you get bill credits that help reduce your energy costs. You’ll receive these credits, regardless of whether we activate the program.
Demand management
It helps us effectively manage electricity demand, especially during peak periods, when the need for energy is at its highest.
Minimal disruptions
When you join, you agree to let us occasionally turn off your A/C system(s), for short periods, when necessary. Disruption is minimal, ensuring your comfort and productivity.*
You will receive a credit on your electric bill for each of the seven months (April - October) the program is in effect. Your savings will amount to $2 per ton, per month over the seven months when your A/C is On Call. For example, if you have two five-ton A/C units, you will save a total of $140 per year.
The On Call program operates from April to October, when electricity demand is high. During this time, equipment may be cycled off for up to 17.5 minutes every half hour, with a maximum of three and a half hours per day.
The program is designed to minimize any noticeable impact to your customers and employees. Additionally, all other electrical devices in your business will continue to operate normally during the cycling off periods.
Your A/C must normally operate between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., at least four days per week. During this time, all units, except those dedicated to temperature-sensitive equipment, will be cycled off.
Simply complete our form and a Business Energy Expert will be in touch within two (2) business days to assist with determining your eligibility for enrollment. Please note: one or more A/C units are required for enrollment.
* Our On Call program is rarely activated, and if it is, we only cycle off your A/C for short periods of time during extremely high electricity demand or system emergencies. The last activation occurred in 2016, lasting approximately two hours due to a system emergency.
