Yes, all of our public chargers are compatible with Teslas using a CCS or CHAdeMO adaptor available from Tesla. Tesla-issued adapters are recommended; aftermarket adaptors may damage your vehicle or charging equipment, and FPL will not be liable for any damages.

EV chargers come in different speeds, and the best choice depends on your daily habits and travel plans.

DC Fast Chargers

• Speed: The quickest option—typically charges an EV in about 30 minutes or less.
• Location: Often found near major highways and travel corridors.
• Best for: Long-distance travel or a swift recharge.
• Requirements: Needs commercial-grade equipment and 480-volt 3-phase power.

Level 2 Chargers

• Speed: Can fully charge most electric vehicles in several hours.
• Location: Commonly available in homes, workplaces, and various destinations.
• Best for: Locations where you'll be parked for an extended period.
• Requirements: Requires dedicated charging equipment and a 240-volt circuit.

It depends on the type and model of the vehicle, but on average it takes about 30 minutes to charge an 80-mile battery vehicle.

It’s proper etiquette to monitor your vehicle’s charge and move your vehicle once fully charged. That said, FPL EVolution chargers allow for a grace period of 30 minutes. After the grace period is over, it may incur an idle fee for every minute the vehicle remains plugged into the charger.

After downloading the FPL EVolution app, you’ll need to set up an account by adding your vehicle and a payment method. You’ll scan the QR code at your selected charger to initiate the charge. Check the app’s support section for more guidance.

FPL EVolution public fast chargers are billed at a rate of $0.30/kWh plus applicable taxes and fees for an effective rate of $0.36-0.37/kWh depending on taxing jurisdiction. Our public level 2 chargers are generally provided free of charge as an amenity to guests, with a few exceptions.
