Electronics Surge Protection

Electronics Surge Protection is a program offered by FPL Home that will reimburse you for the repair or replacement of your covered electronics that are damaged due to power surges. Reimbursement for repair or replacement of covered electronics that are damaged by a power surge, include annual coverage options of $2000 or $5000.

Power surges can happen at any time, which can cause costly damage to sensitive electronics, such as TVs, computers, gaming systems, etc. While plug-in surge suppressors help provide some level of protection for your electronics, they are not 100% effective. The Electronics Surge Protection program helps you pay for the unexpected costs of repairing or replacing your covered sensitive electronics that are damaged by a power surge.

Yes, you can cancel at any time. However, since power surges could happen anytime and potentially damage or destroy your valuable electronics, such as your TVs, computers, tablets and gaming systems, we strongly encourage you to maintain your Electronics Surge Protection service plan for as long as you have valuable electronics.

Surge damage to your sensitive electronics may not be covered by your Landlord or Renters Insurance. It is normally your responsibility to repair or replace your personal electronics, such as your TVs, computers, tablets and gaming systems, out of your own funds. Please refer to your applicable coverage documents (lease agreement and/or Renters Insurance) for proper coverage information.

It is good to have plug-ins/power strips to help protect your sensitive electronics. However, in the event your electronics are damaged or destroyed by a power surge, Electronics Surge Protection will help cover the cost to repair or replace them (up to $5,000 coverage per year).
