We know the bill you pay is one of the most important parts of how FPL serves you. The size of your monthly bill is determined by how much electricity you use and by rates approved by the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC). Here's what's happening with rates.

The latest information

Following rate decreases in April and May, the typical 1,000-kWh residential customer bill is now more than $14 lower than it was at the beginning of this year.

• Rates decreased in April because a temporary surcharge to pay for past hurricane restorations ended March 31. That change reduced a typical 1,000-kWh residential customer bill by $6.81.
• Rates decreased again May 1 after the PSC approved our request to reduce them because of lower projected fuel costs. That reduced a typical 1,000-kWh residential customer bill by an additional $7.69.
• Typical business customer bills are now 8% to 10% lower than they were at the beginning of the year as a result of the rate decreases in April and May.
• Commercial and industrial customers can reach out to FPL account managers for information on 2024 rates.
